A man arrested for murder and attempted murder killed himself at the Makhado Correctional Centre.
Kenneth Netsiongani was found hanging inside the cells on Wednesday morning.
Netsiongani was on parole when he got re-arrested for killing his 5-year-old daughter and stabbed his wife.
Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said there is no foul play suspected in this matter at this stage.
“A case of inquest was opened and the police investigations are still continuing,” Ngoepe said.
The parolee appeared before the Waterval Magistrate’s Court on the 6 December for murder and attempted murder charges and his cases were postponed to 29 January for bail application.
Netsiongani had a domestic dispute with his 25-year-old wife and subsequently stabbed her several times with a sharp object and further stabbed their two children aged five and 3-years-old several times throughout their bodies before fleeing the scene.
Netsiongani was a parolee after he was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in 2010 for murder.
