Comment on this morning’s incident where a Cape Town police officer was shot in the face by attackers who entered the police station pretending to open a robbery case, minister of police in South Africa Fikile Mbalula stated that his department needs to hire more security guards to protect police officers working night shift.

“WE HAVE SEEN THE INCREASE OF POLICE STATIONS GETTING ROBBED IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS AND THIS WORRIES US. OUR POLICE OFFICERS ARE NOT SAFE AT NIGHT, SO WE NEED TO TIGHTEN UP SECURITY AT OUR POLICE STATIONS.” A VERY CONCERNED MBALULA SAID.

Outraged police officers at the Western Cape say they are tired of criminals disturbing them at night, they therefore demand security to be tightened, else they won’t be able to rest or do their job properly.

“YOU KNOW IT’S NOT EASY TO WORK WHEN YOU ARE SCARED AND AFRAID. THE GOVERNMENT MUST PLEASE HELP US. THEY MUST HIRE SECURITY GUARDS TO PROTECT US.” SAID DETECTIVE NYATHI OF THE CAPE POLICE STATION
