A CITY man has sensationally claimed his wife stripped him before wielding a knife following a misunderstanding over their children.
Moya Dube hauled his wife Loice Mavhurume before civil court magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi seeking a protection order against her.
He said Loice is a force to reckon with as she is of a violent disposition.
“The problem is that she does not want my children I sired with my first wife to stay with us. She wants them to move out of the house. So she assaulted one of the children accusing her of stealing zapnax, she is 16 years old.
“She then went on to threaten me with death. That very night she planted a screw driver, a fork and a kitchen knife under her pillow. She then wielded a knife at me and threatened to stab me.
“The following day she said I was not supposed to wear any of the clothes that she bought me even underwear and a belt. I then spend the good part of the day naked as I had nothing to wear. She is just violent.
“I am tired of living with her because she insults me most of the time and she hates her step children. I used to give her my salary but I stopped. Do you know that she used to give me 50 cents for transport and a recharge card for me to sell so that I would have money for transport to get back home?
“I am tired like I said and I want it to end. May the court help me by granting me a protection order,” he said.
In response, Loice denied the allegations saying:
“He is not being truthful to the court. I only reprimanded the child after she stole the zapnax. The child’s mother asked me to make sure the children will grow up well mannered and I was reprimanding out of love,
“He is trying to find an excuse for the affair that he is having. He wants to find ways of getting rid of me because he wants to have another wife but it is difficult since we are legally married. That child he is talking about stole again at her aunt’s place and she was chased away.
“I do not know why he wants to act as if I have done anything wrong to him. Another reason why he is angry is because I applied maintenance since he disappeared for two months without taking care of us. Right now our former landlord confiscated our property because he failed to pay rentals for many months,” she argued.
Siwardi granted the order in Moya’s favour.
