THE 17-year-old boy stole repeatedly from his relative’s house!
Last week, he pounced again and took a video camera, pots, cosmetics and a car jack.
What he did not know was that this time his relative was gatvol!
On Sunday night, she invited her relative to her house in Chief Luthuli Village near Daveyton, Ekurhuleni.
The boy said on arrival at the house his relative tied up his legs and feet with wire and switched on loud music.
He claims from 8pm to 10pm his relative tortured him, chopping his fingers with an axe while knocking his head with a hammer. “Ke nyaka go go laetsa gore bogodu ga bo patele (I want to teach you that crime doesn’t pay),” she said, according to the boy.
“She untied me when she realised I was weak from bleeding. I escaped to my mother’s house two streets away, who called the police and an ambulance.”
The boy is at Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg, where doctors have told him they must remove three of his fingers.
Meanwhile his relative, Tebogo Mokgwatjane (39) said she was sick of the boy.
She said: “My house is his play ground and when I go to the police, they don’t open a case.”
She said by chopping his fingers she wanted to teach him not to steal from anyone ever again.
The boy’s mother said she was furious.
“She is so heartless. I want her to pay for what she did to my son.”
Crystal Park police spokeswoman Tryna Maritz said the police would visit the teen in hospital to help him open a case.
