25-year-old “virgin” Minnie Dlamini has denied swirling rumours that she is in embroiled in a ‘love triangle.’
For months, Minnie’s love life has been making headlines. The popular TV personality has reportedly been dating a guy named Quinton Jones after she broke up with Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
But there’s apparently another guy in the picture. According to Move! magazine’s sources, Minnie has been spotted being dropped off and picked up by SA’s youngest millionaire, Sandile Shezi.
The mag’s sources claim that Sandile has also been showering Minnie with expensive gifts, and Quinton is apparently not impressed.
However, Minnie has fiercely denied the claims. She told the mag that the allegations are “beyond ridiculous” and “unfair.”
Meanwhile, Minnie Dlamini has revealed how she was too scared to break up with Itu Khune because of what people would say.
Talking to Jacaranda FM, Minnie said her relationship with Itu fell apart near the end, but she felt like the pair chose to stick it out because of the pressure and embarrassment they would have felt if they had broke up.
“We just couldn’t make it work, instead of being in a relationship and if it’s not working just being like, ‘Eish. It’s not working’ Because there’s just a lot of pressure and everyone feels like they have an opinion, and the moment there’s a lot of attention and spotlight on the relationship, people feel like they have an input in the relationship,” Minnie added.
Minnie says she now looks for relationships with people who are not famous or even in the industry.
“I think it’s the way to go and I’d even prefer it if it was someone who’s not in my industry. Sometimes you just want normalcy. You want to come home and take off your weave and not have to look cute all the time, and have someone love me for me,” she says.
However, there were reports that Minnie and the Quinton were reportedly seeing each other behind Itumeleng Khune’s back under the pretense that they were friends while Itumeleng Khune and Bonang Matheba were allegedly dating behind Minnie’s back. As the couple was allegedly taking turns to cheat on each other, they failed to manage their relationship and the two eventually broke up last year.
Early this year Minnie Dlamini was culturally re-introduced to her community as a woman of virtue at her KwaZulu-Natal home recently. She underwent ‘umhlonyane’ a traditional Zulu ceremony to celebrate her womanhood and to proclaim that she had looked after herself well and had not had a child out of wedlock.
The TV presenter was blasted by her critics who said uMhlonyane is done for a young virgin girl when she reaches puberty, to teach and advise her about womanhood and what Minnie’s family did was actually supposed to be uMemulo.
While Minnie could not confirm if she was still a virgin, she however defended her ‘Umhlonyane’ ritual. Since then, some media quarters have been referring to her as Minnie the “virgin”.
